Brats and Sour Kraut
A delicious ketobiotic recipe from Dr. Mindy Pelz’s book Fast Like a Girl. I think everyone that has a mentral cycle should have a copy of this book!! It has empowered me take control of my body and helped me balance my hormones without medication. She has a system for syncing when you eat with your monthly cycle to help your body heal itself. She also explains what nutrients your body is looking for at certain times in your cycle to maximize the benefits from the meals that you do eat.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 lb. brats, cut into medallions
1 large onion, halved and thinly sliced
2 granny smith apples, cored, peeled & thinkly sliced
1/4 c apple cider vinegar
1/4 c flax seeds
1 teaspoon paprika
Sea salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups sauerkraut
Steps
Sauté brats over medium heat for 2 minutes.
Add onion - cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
Add apples, vinegar, seeds, paprika, salt and pepper.
Cook for another few minutes until the apples are soft and the liquid has reduced by half.
Serve with a scoop of sauerkraut.
